“Enjoy Every Sandwich…” – Warren Zevon

Enjoy every sandwich

WARREN ZEVON

American Rock Singer, Writer & Musician

Just love the simplicity of this.

Most famous for various songs on his 3rd album – ‘Excitable Boy’ (1978).

The one I know of this is – ‘Werewolves of London’ – a belter of a song which I thought was linked to the film ‘American Werewolf in London’ (1981)….but after a lengthy search it appears it is not! – How did they miss a trick like that!?

Other songs are – ‘Lawyers, Guns & Money’& ‘Roland and the Headless Thompson Gunner’

He also wrote other songs for other artists.

Warren Zevon – Musician

1947 – 2003

His early career was spent as a session musician, jingle composer and touring musician. He struggled to launch a solo career.

This changed when his music was performed by Linda Ronstadt – this led to a cult following that lasted 25 years.

He briefly found a new audience when he teamed up with some of the members of REM to form a band called Hindu Love Gods

He was a guest numerous times on the chat show hosted by David Letterman.

When he was diagnosed with Mesothelioma (a form of lung cancer associated with asbestos) he returned to the talk show for the full hour – David asked him if he had any more insight into life or death – this is where he quote – “Enjoy Every Sandwich”

Other Quotes:

I’ll sleep when I’m dead

Your face looked like something death brought with him in his suitcase

We buy books because we believe we are buying the time to read them.
