Shit or get off the pot…the rise of the social media & armchair warriors…

It struck me today.

When people are pissed off & outraged what do they actually do?

By and large – Fuck all!

They share a post.

Add an angry face.

Write a comment.

Does any of that actually do anything?

I don’t think so.

It’s like I said in a previous post, most of what they do, is generally sharing with other people that have the same views/opinions which makes that whole process pointless.

Preaching to the converted.

I don’t get involved.

It seems to give those involved the satisfaction of being part of it.

Making a difference.

If you aren’t out of your comfort zone and doing something that you would normally do…then you really aren’t doing anything.

Do something that costs you something – money or time. Or both.

Am I a hypocrite? Probably.

I can’t actually think of anything that I get so outraged about that I feel the need to rant & share.

Maybe I am too laid back.

Easy going.

Maybe I am part of the problem.

Ask all the people that actually made a difference over the hundreds of years what they sacrificed.

It would have been more than 5 minutes of their time & a few movements of fingers on a screen or keys for sure.

So back to the title.

Shit or get off the pot.
